Learn More About Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy is a legal process through which individuals or other businesses who cannot repay debts to their creditors may seek relief from some or all of their debts. It helps you get a fresh financial start. The federal court provides the right to file for bankruptcy and all the bankruptcy cases will be handled by the federal court.

At Nickloy, Albright, Gordon, & Siebe we can assist you in filing a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

Let Us Introduce You to the Two Types of Bankruptcy

Chapter 7 bankruptcy also known as “liquidation” bankruptcy, requires the debtor to have an income under the local median. The individual shouldn't have filed for Chapter 7 within the last eight years. The Chapter 7 bankruptcy will clear out most of your debts, including recent IRS obligations, student loans, child support, parking tickets, and criminal violations.

Chapter 13 bankruptcy is also known as “modified repayment” bankruptcy. This bankruptcy allows the debtor to repay his debts through a trustee within a 3 to 5 years period. It helps stop foreclosure and repossessions, reduce unsecured debt 10% - 90%, and reduce car principal.
